Many years ago as a young girl, I would often come with my grandfather to his medical appointments at the Big Spring VA Medical Center. My sister and I would wait patiently for him to complete his appointments and I can remember thinking how great it would be to work here in this big beautiful building with all these great men and women. The thought of taking care of people just like my grandfather that served for our country still makes me tear up.

Working for the Department of Veterans Affairs is a rewarding career for anyone that is caring, enthusiastic and up for the challenge. VA is the largest integrated healthcare system in the United States with more than 1,400 sites of care. Career options include all aspects of healthcare, from grounds and housekeeping to surgeons and research physicians. If you are contemplating employment with the Department of Veterans Affairs, I urge you to visit or
